Hampshire & IOW Freemasons – Bournemouth International Centre (BIC)

On Saturday the TBQ ladies played at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) for a very big function! We’d been booked to provide background music while dinner was served at a black tie event hosted by the Freemasons of Hampshire & IOW. They were celebrating their work to raise over £7 million for their charity. It was a spectacular event, with well over 700 in attendance. We were delighted to provide a mix of music to accompany the meal.

We played on the main stage, with a videographer in attendance to ensure people at the back could see. The sound in the hall was great, thanks to the tech team for amping us up so nicely!

On 22 October, the Freemasons of Hampshire & Isle of Wight celebrated the conclusion of their 2016 Festival Appeal. The Appeal was launched in 2010 and over the past six years, members have worked tirelessly to raise an incredible £7,746,319 for the Masonic Charitable Foundation’s predecessor charity, the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys (RMTGB). This is largest total ever raised in the history of Masonic Festival Appeals.

The event was held at the Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) and was hosted by Provincial Grand Master and Festival Chairman, Geoff Tuck. Special guests included Past President of the RMTGB, Mike Woodcock, and former Chief Executive of the RMTGB, Les Hutchinson.

Those in attendance enjoyed performances  from The Royal Marine Association Concert Band, the Trafalgar Drummers, the Southern Union Chorus and the Bossard String Quartet, as well as Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Jasmine Elcock, who also announced the grand total at the end of the night. Jasmine and her family have been supported by the Masonic Charitable Foundation and its predecessor charities for several years.

Speaking about the total raised, Les, now Chief Operating Officer of the Masonic Charitable Foundation, said: “It was a great pleasure to join the Freemasons of Hampshire & Isle of Wight for their celebration. Over the six year Appeal, the Province has achieved an outstanding result, both for the RMTGB and the Masonic Charitable Foundation, and for the thousands of disadvantaged children and young people that we support each year.  Their generosity will make a huge difference.”
