Littleton & Harestock Flower Show

The Littleton & Harestock Flower Show is an annual event in September. The Bossard Quartet were delighted to be invited to play at such a community event.

Last year we were playing at the wedding of Catherine and James at Lainston House when one of the guests at their wedding told us he was on the Committee of the Littleton and Harestock Flower show. Would we like to come and play a couple of sets in the marquee at their show? We said yes of course! We’re always so pleased when people who see us play ask us if we’d like to play at another function they are organising.

So, in September we set off for the pretty village of Littleton on a beautiful summer’s day. This is a proper village fete if ever we’ve seen one. With a flower show and competition, classes for floristry, art, photography, ferret racing, falconry, Punch & Judy show, dog competition, mini railway – the Littleton & Harestock show offers such a fun family day out with something for everyone, as cheesy as that sounds! So we thought we’d fit right in!

We set up in the marquee and played 2 sets to an audience who we hope enjoyed our range of classical and popular music! At one point we were in direct competition sound-wise with the Hook Eagles Border Morris dancers who gave us a run for our money by dancing next to our marquee – fortissimo!
