String Quartet Review : Mr and Mrs Andrews

Read on for a String Quartet Review with Lucy, who recently booked The Bossard Quartet for their wedding at New Place in September 2017

Your married name: Lucy Andrews

How did you meet one another?: We met on a night out in a bar

Tell us about the proposal: Dan proposed at sunset at Lake Como at Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni. It was a beautiful setting and we both cried. When we sat down to dinner, a string trio was playing and it just so happened they were playing ‘Everthing I Do’ by Bryan Adams. This is a song from Dan’s favourite movie so we just knew this had to be our first dance song.

At what point did you decide you’d like a string quartet?: We were at a bar in London Waterloo and we heard a quartet playing but they were playing lots of dance tracks. We really enjoyed sitting there with our cocktails trying to put a name to the tune.

Did you have any concerns about having a string quartet?: My main concern was that people would think it would be a stuffy wedding so we didn’t tell anyone. We wanted them to hear you before judging and get the full effect that we got when we saw that quartet in London.

What have your guests since said about The Bossard Quartet since your wedding?: They thought you were amazing. They couldn’t believe the different genres of music you could play. They especially liked Jurassic Park.

What advice would you give to others who are planning a wedding?: Just to give yourself plenty of time planning it. I didn’t have any stresses in the week leading up to the wedding and that really helped me.
