On Saturday, Anna, Amy, Ruth & Sophie played at the wedding of Nikki and Jon at Highfield Park. Highfield Park is a DeVere Venue in Hook, Hampshire. It is a venue we’d not played at before so we ventured up the M3 with excitement!

We set up to play for the ceremony and made use of the lovely DeVere coffee machine. The bride entered to Pachelbel Canon, and we played Bach Air in G and some of Handel’s Water Music for the signing of the register. The couple exited as a new Mr and Mrs to the sounds of the Mendelssohn Wedding March.
Then, we had a change of pace. The couple had requested we play Cantina Band from Star Wars as the first song once the drinks reception had started. We duly obliged with a solo violin 2 moment and a brief 8 bars of the Star Wars theme before commencing a lively rendition of Cantina Band. We think the audience appreciated this one!
We played lots of our new favourites for this couple – New Order’s Love Will Tear Us Apart which is a great arrangement, Queen’s Crazy Little Thing Called Love , Led Zeppelin’s Stairway To Heaven, Let It Go from Frozen (for the little girl sat sweetly on the sofa with mum and dad) and many many more!
We enjoyed this wedding immensely and were very pleased to have a personal handshake from the Groom at the end of our stint.
