Lyndhurst Church Wedding – Nakita and Ishmir

We were happy to play for the Lyndhurst church wedding of Nakita and Ishmir at the St Michael’s and All Angels Church in Lyndhurst last Saturday. The weather was uncommonly hot for a bank holiday weekend, the couple were so lucky with their wedding day weather!

We interviewed Nakita before her wedding and discovered some really lovely, sentimental reasons for why her and Ishmir had chosen this church as their venue. She also explained her reasons for choosing Pachelbel Canon to walk down the aisle to.

We play at many different weddings, and it really is very nice for us to learn and understand about our couples so that we feel our music is creating the right atmosphere for them. It’s wonderful to hear the backstory of our couple, so that on the day we are there and feeling happy for the couple we are playing for.

The church is a pretty spectacular building in the heart of Lyndhurst.

Please read below for our lovely Q&A with Nakita before their wedding

Your Wedding Venue: St michaels and all angels church Lyndhurst

Wedding Date: 5th May 2018

Why did you choose your wedding venue?: I chose Lyndhurst church for our wedding ceremony because it was where my parents got married and my brother and I were baptised. It is also where I spent every Sunday of my childhood up until I left for university. For this reason I suppose, Iv always felt closest to God here. It holds great sentimental value to me and I truly could not contemplate anywhere else I’d rather be married, especially as my wonderful father sadly passed away when I was only 5 years old, but knowing that he too worshiped here and married my mother, brings me so much comfort.

At what point did you realise you wanted a string quartet?: Ever since a little girl

Pick three words that sum up how you feel about your wedding day: A great blessing

Why have you chosen your music to walk down the aisle to :

Canon in D by pachabel

I used to sing in the church choir as a child and ever since hearing this piece of music, from an early age I always told my mum that this is what I wanted to walk down the isle to…I can’t put my finger on it but there is just something so special about this music which touches a chord with me. Being able to have it on my wedding day fulfils a childhood dream

Tell us an interesting story about you as a couple – (i.e. how you met, how you got engaged, funny tale that we should know about): Ishmir proposed to me at a bridge in the heart of the forest which he had decorated in tea lights . He picked this spot because of the great sentimental value it has to me as my father used to take me on bike rides as a child to this one special place where we’d always stop off and play games. I have so many happy memories here and while Ishmir unfortunately never got to meet my father, he understands just how important he is to me and the big part he still plays in my life today as I constantly strive to make him proud. The proposal now means that this location will not only represent my most happy of days as a child with my father but going forward it will now also be special because of the history between Ishmir and I.

Any musical background yourselves?: Unfortunately not!

Who is your photographer?: Emma Moore

Who is doing your flowers?: Florality Lyndhurst

Where is your dress from ? : Anya bridal boutique

If you are having any readings, who is giving them?: My wonderful mother- the most incredible, wise and beautiful person I know-my utter inspiration

The Feedback

After the wedding, Nakita sent us a beautiful note to thank us.

I just wanted to thank you all so very much for playing at our wedding last Saturday.

The music you played was just so perfect and I can’t wait until I have our wedding video so I can watch it all back and appreciate it all over again; this time without the nerves!! I really can’t thank you enough for fulfilling a childhood dream of mine in having a quartet play at my wedding and to have such special sentimental music played so beautifully as well just exceeded my expectations and made the ceremony extra magical for me.

Please pass on our thanks to the rest of your lovely team. I am truly grateful to you all though for being there for us and for your beautiful music which I am still getting compliments over!
