Royal Marines Museum – Wedding String Quartet

On Saturday we played at the wedding of Hayley and Rhys at the Royal Marines Museum, in Eastney in Portsmouth. We have played there many times before, and always enjoy a wedding in this place, steeped with history from the amazing Royal Marines. Rhys is a serving Royal Marine, which made it all the more special to have their wedding there.

The Royal Marine’s Museum is a busy wedding venue in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and we have always enjoyed playing in the former Officer’s Mess.

For Hayley and Rhys’ wedding, we had been booked to accompany the Wedding Breakfast. A little bit of light music as the guests enjoyed their meals.

As we turned up at the Royal Marine’s Museum, the guests were gathered out the front of the museum, and it was more than a little blustery! We made our way in through the wind tunnel of the front entrance, and set up on the ‘dancefloor’ in the dining room.

As the newly wedded Mr and Mrs entered the room to a roaring round of applause, we played Bruno Mars’ “Marry You” as per Hayley and Rhys’ request. Their very first request after Marry You was for us to play the Theme Tune To Game Of Thrones. We happily obliged.

You can catch a video of us playing the theme to Game Of Thrones in the video below.

A massive thank you to Hayley and Rhys for booking us, and we wish you a long and happy married life.
