Spitbank Fort Wedding Ceremony

We had a fantastic time playing for a Spitbank Fort Wedding Ceremony today. Olivia and William had booked us a while back, and we always love playing on Spitbank Fort. We were picked up by their friends in Old Portsmouth and went onboard the Mary Siobhan boat which took us over. We clambered onto the fort with all of our instruments, stands and music cases. Amy made the mistake of wearing heels. Even though she knew it was grated steps up to the fort. Doh.

We set up in the bar ready for the arrival of the guests. As they arrived we played lots of pieces that had been requested by the bride and groom. We then moved up into the Crow’s Nest which is right at the top of the fort. It has stunning views of the Solent and right across to Portsmouth. We played Pachelbel’s Canon for the entrance of Olivia, and then in the signing we played ‘Now We Are Free’ from Gladiator, and ‘Kiss From a Rose’ by Seal.

The couple exited to our chirpy rendition of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana.

Then we had to speedily pack up and join the registrars on the boat back to Portsmouth.

What fun and thank you for booking us!
