We love a good barn, and Upwaltham Barns is a really pretty one – we play there frequently and here we blog about Mr & Mrs Russell’s wedding!
We were delighted to play at the wedding of Mr and Mrs Russell back in June. We played at Upwaltham Barns, a delicious barn in West Sussex, with a beautiful courtyard and lovely buildings for ceremonies and dinners.
We were set up initially in the courtyard to play while the guests were arriving to the venue. It was rather hot and proving to be a glorious day! About 15 minutes before the ceremony we moved over into the ceremony room which was the cue for the guests to start taking their seats in preparation for the entry of the bride.
The ceremony was lovely, with lots of heartfelt readings from family and friends.
After the deed had been done the happy couple and their guests made their way back out into the courtyard to enjoy ice-creams and to enjoy the sunshine. We were so grateful to the staff at Upwaltham Barns who provided us with a generously sized gazebo for us to sit underneath at this point. The sun was very strong and we can’t risk damaging our instruments by playing in direct strong sunlight. The venue were more than happy to do this, and it was lovely to play underneath it in the shade!
