Music for Every Moment: A Guide to Your Wasing Park Wedding

Deep in the heart of the Berkshire countryside lies Wasing Park, a venue that feels less like a single location and more like a private, enchanted village. From the 15th-century chapel to the contemporary glass-walled Garden Room, it is a place where every corner offers a different aesthetic.

For The Bossard Quartet, Wasing Park is a playground of acoustic possibilities. Whether you are planning a traditional service or a modern "Bridgerton-style" celebration, here is how to curate the perfect soundtrack for each part of your day at Wasing.

The Romantic Garden Room: A Modern Classic

The Garden Room is a favourite for civil ceremonies. With its glass bi-fold doors, rustic oak beams, and floods of natural light, it is a space that feels both outdoors and comfortably sheltered.

A string quartet is the ideal accompaniment here. The wooden floors and brickwork provide a crisp, bright acoustic that allows the delicate melodies of a violin to carry beautifully. If you are looking for wedding ceremony music inspiration, we often recommend light, airy tracks for this space. Think Wildest Dreams (Duomo style) or something classic like Mozart’s Divertimento in D to match the elegant, modern surroundings.

The Sacred St. Nicholas Church

Having a 15th-century parish church right on-site is part of what makes Wasing Park so unique. If you are opting for a traditional religious ceremony, the church of St. Nicholas provides a sense of history and gravitas.

The sound of a string quartet in a stone church is incomparable. The natural reverb adds a depth and richness to the music that feels truly timeless. For a church entrance, you can’t go wrong with the classic Pachelbel's Canon in D or a stirring rendition of Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.

Al Fresco Vibes at the Victorian Summerhouse

If the weather is on your side, the Victorian Summerhouse in the Terrace Garden is a stunning spot for an outdoor ceremony. Nestled amongst lush greenery and hand-painted murals, it is a quintessentially English setting.

We love performing on the lawn here. A string quartet provides a sophisticated, unplugged soundtrack that enhances the natural beauty of the gardens. It is also the perfect location for a relaxed drinks reception. We can move from the ceremony spot to the terrace in minutes, keeping the music flowing as your guests enjoy their first glass of Fizz.

The Grand Finale: The Castle Barn

The Castle Barn is where the party truly begins. Known for its incredible acoustics, this Grade II listed barn features a red brick castle-style tower and an impressive arched doorway.

While the barn is a fantastic space for a DJ in the evening, a string quartet during the wedding breakfast can be a real showstopper. The high ceilings and timber beams create a "big" sound. This is the perfect time to let our TBQ Jukebox take over, playing everything from Mr. Brightside to Dancing in the Moonlight. It keeps the energy high and gives your guests a taste of the "classical with a twist" vibe we love to provide.

Inspiration for Your Wasing Park Playlist

Wasing Park is a venue of contrasts—traditional yet contemporary, rustic yet polished. Your music should reflect that:

  • The Ceremony: Elegant and emotive. Choose songs that have personal meaning, whether it’s a film theme or a classic hymn.

  • The Drinks Reception: Upbeat and social. This is the time for pop covers, jazz standards, and "Bridgerton" favourites.

  • The Wedding Breakfast: Sophisticated background music that builds in energy as you move towards the speeches.
