Quartet Photo Shoot with Paul Thurlow Photographer

One evening, Amy got chatting to local photographer Paul Thurlow at the Kitsch n’ D’or restaurant for a mutual friend’s birthday. Several glasses of wine later and Paul had kindly offered to do a photo shoot of the quartet.

As we are all based in Southsea, we decided to take our instruments down to the seafront for some photo action.

Paul is a fun at heart, very generous photographer who spent a couple of hours being very patient with us during our photoshoot. Despite the fact that we are all used to performing in public with our instruments, standing in front of a camera is very different and it took us a while to get into it. Paul came equipped with camera, assistant and a very impressive set of flash lighting to make our shots really dramatic. Paul has a really great style of photography and we were hoping we’d get something really different from the shoot.

We met up on a cold and blustery December morning which had the benefit of being much quieter in Old Portsmouth than it would have been on a summer’s day. We got some fantastic shots of us on the Spice Island, by the Still & West pub with the Spinnaker Tower in the background. We were so relieved there were no crowds enjoying us squirm in front of the cameras!

We are so pleased with the photos – we have used one of them on the homepage of our website www.thebossardquartet.co.uk and we would like to say a huge big thankyou to Paul Thurlow for his time and generosity. Paul is of course available to book as a photographer for weddings, band photos, corporate events etc. Although he’s getting very busy so book fast!
