The Bossard Quartet meet The West End Singers

Earlier this year, the West End Singers got in touch with us and invited us to share their concert, “Sing out for Summer” at Thornden Hall, in Eastleigh. The West End Singers are a fun loving choir who enjoy singing modern pop songs with a twist. We enjoyed meeting them and their enthusiastic conductor Alex Silverman.

We entertained an audience of 200 with a selection of repertoire as follows:

First Half Lullaby of Birdland -George Shearing arranged by Jack Long Come Fly with Me – Jimmy Van Heusen Moon River – Mancini arranged by Jack Long Sway – Pablo Beltran-Ruiz arranged Anna Pring Ragtime Dance – Joplin arranged by Thorpe

Second Half Brandenburg Concerto No.3 First Movement – J.S Bach arranged Latham Bohemiam Rhapsody – Freddie Mercury Plink Plank Plunk – Leroy Anderson Palladio – Karl Jenkins Feeling Good – A. Newley arranged Anna Pring Star Wars – John Williams arranged Anna Pring

Feedback from the audience was great, the choir really enjoyed singing their pieces, and TBQ really enjoyed the concert too. As you can see our repertoire was eclectic which suited the audience perfectly (no disrespect to the audience intended!)

We were billed as “The Bossard Quartet, a string quartet from Portsmouth, but we won’t hold it against them!”

The concert was also broadcast live on Southampton Hospital Radio, so we hope our music was enjoyed further afield too

If you are organising a concert in Hampshire, get in touch with us to see how we can offer something a little different for your concert goers.
