The Bossard Quartet played at Highcliffe Castle, near Christchurch for two weddings in May. Here they blog about Katie and Sam’s wedding.
Highcliffe Castle is an awesome location – perched up high on the cliffs at Highcliffe in Dorset. It’s a Georgian Mansion which has gone through various states of repair. It’s had a rocky history in the mid 20th Century, being passed from one owner to the next. But in 1977 Christchurch Council purchased it and opened its grounds to the public. The site has gradually been restored thanks to funding from lots of sources, including the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Katie and Sam booked us for their wedding reception, and they’d given us a lovely list of requests to play before the ceremony. We entertained with some COldplay, Ed Sheeran, Elbow, Robbie Williams, Stevie Wonder etc.
Katie walked down the aisle to Pachelbel Canon in D, which went very well and she looked beautiful. For the signing of the register, we played Elton John’s Can You Feel The Love Tonight, and also You’ve Got A Friend in Me, from Toy Story.
We then played McFly’s It’s All About You for the exit of the happy couple.
Many thanks for booking us!
