On Saturday we played at the wedding of Erin and Tim at the Master Builders Hotel in Buckler’s Hard, near Beaulieu. The Master Builder’s Hotel is situated overlooking the river in the 18th century hamlet where, between two rows of shipwrights’ cottages, several of Nelson’s warships, including Agamemnon, were built.
Erin and Tim had booked the string quartet to play for their wedding ceremony, and for a short while during the drinks reception out on the Patio afterwards. As we tuned up, Tim The Groom told us he was really looking forward to hearing us play as him and Erin were musicians themselves.
The Ceremony Room is All Set and Ready
For the wedding ceremony we played Elbow’s One Day Like This as Erin walked down the aisle. During the signing of the register we played Beach Boys God Only Knows and New Order Love Will Tear Us Apart. As the newly crowned Mr and Mrs left the ceremony, we played Muse Starlight as the guests gave the couple a raptuous round of applause.
We quickly moved out onto the patio to play a few more requests for the guests until it was time to pack up and say goodbye. The day was so sunny and beautiful the quartet couldn’t help but grab a glass of wine and a plate of chips out in the garden and join the tourists enjoying the fine view over the river. It would have been rude not to!
Congratulations to Erin and Tim for choosing The Bossard Quartet on their big day, and a thank you to The Master Builder’s Hotel for hosting us again. We can’t wait to go back!
