We spent an enjoyable few hours at River Studios in Southampton recording some new string quartet recordings for our ‘listen’ page of our website last night. We arrived at the studios in the pouring rain, ran in and were greeted with hot steaming cups of tea. Perfect! We set up in the studio and did a few sound tests with Ollie our sound engineer. We then worked our way through lots of samples of our repertoire. We picked some different pieces to show our prospective clients what we can do. We had a great time and would like to thank River Studios for helping us!
We recorded a new demo of Pachelbel Canon, as the most requested piece in our repertoire by far it was important for us to have a slick demo of this one.
We also recorded some more contemporary arrangements of pop songs, such as Daft Punk Rudimental and Ed Sheeran. To make sure our listen page is up to date on our newer repertoire!
We decided to record Cristina Perri’s A Thousand Years, as this is a really nice, popular request for wedding ceremonies.
We recorded three of the themes from Love Actually, as these are really nice and we like them!
We recorded a version of The Smiths Please Please Let Me Get What I Want, which was covered in a recent John Lewis Christmas Advert, because a previous client had once asked if we could record these one day.
