On Saturday we had the pleasure of providing wedding string quartet music for the wedding of Kevin and Deborah at the Sandford Springs Golf Club. The weather was glorious, and this couple had one of the most appreciative wedding audiences we have seen in a long time. Following a TBQ Luncheon at Amy’s House, the quartet venture off up the “Magic Road” aka the A33, towards Kingsclere, in Hampshire.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Robin, the friendly host at Sandford Springs and shown where to set up in the newly refurbished ceremony room. We played Pachelbel Canon as the bride walked down the aisle, Delibes Flower Duet and Faure Pavane as the couple signed the register, and Handel’s Queen of Sheba as the new Mr and Mrs exited the room.
We then moved over to the reception drinks and played a massive variety of pieces as the guests enjoyed a chilled glass of Pimms with views of the golf course. Our guests became more and more engaged with the music, and by the end of our stint, we had a big group of them sitting around us requesting pieces and applauding after each piece. We thank these guests for their appreciation!
After we’d finished, we bid farewell to the Bride and Groom, and set off on our way home. Not before we got a chance to have a little picture with some golf buggies that were handily parked outside the entrance! No wedding is complete without the perfect photo opportunity!
