We kicked off September with a lovely wedding at the intimate Taplins Place on Saturday. Taplins is a lovely garden that is part of a family home. There’s a cool little pagoda style summer house for wedding ceremonies, and a barn for the wedding breakfast. The garden is decorated with interesting trinkets and photo opportunities, and is a really relaxed wedding venue.
We played for the wedding ceremony and pre-wedding ceremony of Emma and Gary. Emma walked down the aisle to Desree’s Kissing You. They signed the register to Songbird and the song ‘Tale As Old As Time’ from Beauty and The Beast.
And.. they had their own love actually moment with ‘All You Need Is Love’ at the end.
It was a lovely day all in all – the weather was perfect. We love going and finding the wedding cake for a quick admire and a picture. This cake did not disappoint – a lovely naked strawberry cake. It looked amazing!
We enjoyed posing with a vintage tractor on the way out, we just could not resist!

Taplins Place Wedding Venue is situated in the grounds of a 350-year-old farmhouse. The same plot of land has been on the registers since the Domesday Survey of 1086 when it was part of the great Royal Manor of Odiham. The land changed hands many times before the farmhouse was finally built in the late 1600’s and for centuries was the home of hard working local farmers. The Willis family have owned it for the last twenty years and have lovingly restored it to it past glory, completely renovating the house, revealing all the charm of its original oak frame construction and reclaiming the wild farmland surrounding it that had fallen into disrepair in the years prior. Many family members had their weddings at Taplins Place and such wonderful memories have been made here that it was decided to open the space up to friends, and then friends of friends and now to the general public.
