The Bell Inn – New Forest

We had a lovely time on Saturday performing at The Bell Inn in the New Forest. It’s perfectly placed, as it’s just off the M27 but really feels like you are in the heart of the New Forest.

Lucy and Andy were our couple and had booked us to play for the ceremony, and for the pre-dinner drinks. We set up in a beautiful floral wonderland for the ceremony. As Lucy walked down the aisle, we played Holst’s Jupiter. For the signing of the register we played Elton John’s Can You Feel The Love Tonight. There was an alarming moment when the registrar’s hair caught on one of the candles and went up in flames. It was a bit of a shock, but she was ok , just had lost a couple of inches of hair. The ceremony continued with no other suprises.

As the couple exited the ceremony room ans the new Mr and Mrs, we played Nessun Dorma, by Puccini, followed by All You Need Is Love, by the Beatles.

We moved across into the hallway to play for the drinks reception. We worked our way through the couple’s request, and also took quite a few requests from some guests. It turned out some of them had seen us play at WarriorFest this summer, on HMS Warrior. We started taking some requests such as Pirates of The Carribean, Bohemian Rhapsody and Jurassic Park.

Lucy was a very thoughtful bride, and provided us with a glass of Prosecco each, as well as letting us leave with a box of 8 Krispy Kreme donuts. We were all feeling rather peckish so we took a seat in front of the fire once all the guests had gone through for their meal and spent a lovely time eating the donuts together! It’s a tough life!

Thank you to Lucy and Andy for booking us, and generally for being so lovely.

Enjoy the pics. x
